Job Details – Travel Nurse (PCU RN / Cardiac Stepdown)

• Location: Rock Island, IL 61201 (Quad Cities, Illinois)
• Setting: Cardiac Stepdown (PCU) – Level 1 Trauma Center
• Start Date: May 4, 2026
• End Date: August 3, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour days (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM), 36 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,090 – $2,200
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• On-Call: No call required
• EMR: EPIC (EPIC EMR experience preferred)

Required Qualifications – PCU RN / Travel Nurse Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU/Stepdown experience; Cardiac RN or telemetry experience required
• Experience with cardiac and open-heart patients preferred (post-op cardiac surgery, heart failure management)
• Hands-on experience with chest tubes, femstops (femoral compression devices), tracheostomies, continuous bladder irrigations (CBIs), drains, and central lines
• Proficiency in administering and titrating advanced cardiac medications including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, Heparin, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Isuprel, Milrinone, Argatroban
• BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association required)
• At least one completed travel contract preferred (travel nurse experience a plus)
• Must have a taxable address outside of 50 miles from the facility

Responsibilities – PCU Registered Nurse / Cardiac Stepdown RN

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to patients in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Cardiac Stepdown unit
• Monitor and titrate critical cardiac medications and manage advanced cardiac interventions for stepdown and telemetry patients
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team (physicians, cardiology, respiratory therapy, case management) to coordinate patient care and safe transitions
• Float within the same discipline across local campuses as needed to support staffing and continuity of care
• Document patient care accurately and timely in EPIC EMR to meet charting and compliance standards
• Participate in orientation, unit-based training, and ongoing professional development to maintain clinical excellence
