• End Date: August 31, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks (Travel RN assignment)
• Shifts: 3x12-hour shifts per week (rotating days/nights or nights only; 07:00–19:30 or 19:00–07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,940 – $2,040 (competitive travel nurse pay)
• Weekend Coverage: Up to 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule period
• Floating: Required within units of equivalent or lower acuity
• Typical Patient Ratio: 1:1–1:2 (cardiac critical care)

Required Qualifications – Cardiac ICU Nurse

• Minimum 1 year recent CVICU or Cardiac ICU nursing experience (2 years preferred) — critical care RN experience required
• Active RN license (compact license accepted or Ohio state RN license required at time of submission)
• Graduate of an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (NIHSS preferred)
• EPIC electronic charting experience required (EPIC proficiency)
• Proficiency with advanced cardiac equipment and procedures (ECMO, VAD, IABP/balloon pump, PA/Swan-Ganz monitoring, ventilator management)
• Ability to float to similar or lower acuity units as needed
• Two professional references required (one from a manager/director or formal leader)

Core Responsibilities – CVICU / Cardiac Critical Care RN

• Provide high-quality, compassionate care to adult patients in a busy CVICU environment (cardiac critical care nursing)
• Manage complex cardiac and thoracic post-surgical patients, including CABG, valve repair, TAVR, heart/lung transplant, VAD, ECMO, and aortic/esophageal repairs
• Perform advanced ICU skills: IV starts, invasive hemodynamic monitoring (Swan-Ganz/PA lines), titration of vasoactive drips, ventilator and sedation management
• Care for patients on mechanical circulatory support (ECMO, VAD) and intra-aortic balloon pump/balloon pumps
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (cardiothoracic surgery, perfusion, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, rapid response)
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in EPIC and follow unit protocols and safety standards
• Float to other units as required, participate in rotating holidays and scheduled weekend coverage
