Travel RN Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,980 – $2,080 (competitive weekly pay for travel nurse telemetry roles)

Key Qualifications — Telemetry RN / Travel Nurse Requirements

• Minimum 2 years recent clinical experience in Stepdown, Med-Surg, Telemetry, or combined Med Surg/Telemetry (Telemetry RN experience preferred)
• Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate RN license (Iowa nursing license accepted)
• ACLS (AHA or American Red Cross) and BLS (AHA or American Red Cross) required
• EPIC EMR experience required (experience with electronic charting/EPIC preferred for travel nurses)
• Comfort and proficiency administering and managing drips: heparin, insulin, lasix, amiodarone, diltiazem, digoxin
• Ability to read EKG/ECG, rhythm strips, and perform dysrhythmia assessments
• Completion of Basic Dysrhythmia Assessment with passing score of 80% during onboarding
• De-escalation Certificate (SAMA, MAB, MOAB, CPI) preferred — can be completed during onboarding
• NIH Stroke Scale certificate preferred — can be completed during onboarding
• Professional reference from charge/supervisor/nurse manager/director/CNO/COO within last 24 months preferred
• Valid Driver’s License required
• Skills checklist specific to Med Surg, Telemetry, or Med/Tele required

Responsibilities — Telemetry Float RN

• Float across Behavioral Health, Emergency Department, ICU, and post-procedural areas as needed (Telemetry float responsibilities)
• Continuously monitor and accurately interpret telemetry readings and rhythm strips
• Administer and titrate drips including heparin, insulin, lasix, amiodarone, diltiazem, and digoxin per facility protocols
• Provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced resource unit environment (Med-Surg, Stepdown, Telemetry)
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—physicians, RRT, respiratory therapy, and ancillary staff—to optimize patient outcomes
• Participate in holiday rotation and work every other weekend as scheduled
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation using EPIC EMR and follow unit-specific workflows
• Complete Basic Dysrhythmia Assessment during onboarding and maintain competency
