Travel ER RN Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,590 - $1,680 (estimated weekly pay for travel nurse)
- Location: Hickory, NC 28601 — Hickory travel nurse position
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 7, 2026 – August 1, 2026)
- Shift: 12-hour Nights (19:45 – 07:15)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Setting: 32-bed Emergency Department — ER nursing job caring for patients birth to geriatrics
- Employment Type: Travel Nurse (W2) — Emergency Department RN / ER RN travel assignment
ER Registered Nurse Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room (ER) nursing experience — experience as an Emergency Department RN or ER RN required
- Active RN license (compact license accepted where applicable)
- Required certifications: ACLS, PALS or ENPC, NIHSS
- Experience with Cerner EHR (documentation and charting)
- Strong clinical judgment, critical care thinking, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced emergency nursing environment
- Excellent communication, patient experience, and interdisciplinary teamwork skills
- Must reside at least 60 miles from Hickory, NC to qualify as a travel nurse
Emergency Department RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population (birth to geriatrics)
- Assess, triage, and manage a wide range of medical and traumatic emergencies, including stroke, STEMI, and trauma cases
- Use critical care equipment, perform emergency interventions, and document care accurately in Cerner EHR
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Float to other units as needed based on competencies
- Participate in an every-other-weekend rotation and census-driven call requirements
- Maintain a positive, energetic, and knowledgeable presence within the Emergency Department team
