• Duration: 13 weeks (travel nursing assignment)
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
• Total Hours Per Week: 40
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,000 – $2,100
• Shift: Varied Day Shift, 8-hour shifts (06:45 – 15:15)
• Weekend Requirements: None
• On-Call Requirements: None
• Patient Ratios: 2:1
• EMR: Epic (Epic EMR experience required)

Job Requirements

• Active RN license in Virginia or Compact State (Virginia RN license preferred)
• Minimum 2 years recent clinical experience in Pre-Op, Post-Op, and PACU or perioperative nursing
• Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications (AHA only)
• Proficiency with Epic EMR — experience documenting perioperative and PACU care
• Experience caring for adult and pediatric patients with complex co-morbidities
• Strong communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills in a surgical center or hospital setting

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in Pre-Op, Post-Op, and PACU settings as a perioperative nurse
• Perform focused pre-operative assessments and post-anesthesia monitoring for surgical patients
• Monitor patient status, manage airway and hemodynamics, and respond rapidly to changes in condition
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and pain management interventions per provider orders
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, OR staff, and multidisciplinary perioperative team members
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Epic EMR; complete clear handoffs at transitions of care
• Provide patient and family education on post-operative care, recovery expectations, and discharge instructions
• Adhere to hospital policies, infection control, patient safety protocols, and perioperative best practices
