Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,280 – $2,400
• Location: Rosedale, MD 21237 (Baltimore metro area) — Maryland travel nursing job
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (May 19, 2026 – August 18, 2026)
• Shift: Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts (07:00 – 17:30)
• Hours per Week: 40
• On-call: Required – 3 weeknights and 2 weekends in 6 weeks
• Setting: Operating Room (OR) – Adult & Geriatric patient population
• Unit Size: 14 ORs, daily census 38–47

Required Qualifications / Travel Nurse Requirements

• Minimum 2 years recent Operating Room RN (OR RN) experience – perioperative nursing required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Active RN license (Maryland or compact state license accepted)
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• CNOR certification preferred
• Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
• Two (2) supervisor references required

Key Responsibilities – Perioperative & Surgical Nursing

• Provide high-quality perioperative nursing care as scrub and/or circulating nurse across multiple surgical specialties (General, Orthopedics, Urology, Vascular, Neurosurgery, Robotic, Thoracic, Pulmonary, Breast/Plastic).
• Scrub and circulate for complex procedures using advanced technology including DaVinci Xi and Ion Robot; robotic-assisted surgery experience is a plus.
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond promptly to emergent surgical cases in this fast-paced Baltimore-area hospital.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (anesthesia, surgical providers, pharmacy, rapid response, imaging) to support safe, efficient patient care.
• Maintain strict infection control, sterile processing, and perioperative patient safety protocols.
• Document perioperative care accurately in Cerner EMR and ensure clear clinical handoffs for continuity of care.
• Provide patient and family education pre-op and post-op, supporting informed consent and discharge teaching when applicable.
