• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,710 - $1,800
• Job Title: Med/Surg Registered Nurse (Med-Surg RN) / Travel Nurse
• Location: Henderson, NC (zip 27536) — Henderson, North Carolina travel nurse opportunity
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 5/10/2026 – End: 8/9/2026)
• Shift: 12 Hour Days (07:00-19:00)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Unit / Setting: Medical-Surgical unit (48 beds) — medical-surgical nursing
• Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Employment Type: Travel
• Weekend Hours: As needed
• Call Requirements: None

Job Requirements — Registered Nurse (RN) Qualifications

• Active RN license (must be eligible to practice as a Registered Nurse)
• Minimum 1 year of medical-surgical (Med/Surg) nursing experience with at least 1 completed travel assignment
• Required certifications: NIH Stroke Scale, ACLS, BLS
• Clinical skills: IV start, Foley catheter insertion, NG tube insertion
• Experience performing EKGs and managing heparin drips
• Comfortable with 1:6 patient ratio and high patient turnover
• May have rare float assignments (inpatient rehab or ER task-based float)

Responsibilities — Med-Surg RN / Travel Nurse Duties

• Deliver high-quality medical-surgical patient care in a fast-paced Med/Surg unit
• Initiate IVs, insert Foley catheters, and place NG tubes as indicated
• Perform EKGs, monitor telemetry, and manage heparin drip protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, PT/OT, case management) to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation using Paragon EHR
• Adapt to high turnover and changing patient acuity common in medical-surgical nursing
• Provide compassionate care to adult and geriatric patient populations
