- Location: Hilo, HI 96720 — Hilo travel nurse opportunity / Hawaii nursing jobs
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (travel assignment)
- Start Date: May 18, 2026
- End Date: August 17, 2026
- Shift: Nights – 3 x 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours weekly) following orientation
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800 – $1,890 (estimated travel nurse pay)
- Setting: 28-bed Emergency Department with 4 trauma bays, 2 behavioral health rooms, and 22 cardiac monitor rooms
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Active Hawaii RN license (must be obtained by assignment start date) — required for Hawaii nursing jobs
- Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Department / ER nursing experience
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- ACLS and PALS certifications preferred (Emergency nursing certifications)
- Ability to arrive in Hilo the Thursday before the assignment starts for pre-employment health screening
- Strong teamwork, communication, and clinical judgment in fast-paced acute care/ED settings
Responsibilities – Emergency Department (ER RN)
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients presenting with acute and emergent conditions in a busy Emergency Department
- Triage, assess, monitor, and treat patients using evidence-based emergency nursing practices
- Manage cardiac monitoring, respond to trauma activations, and care for behavioral health patients as needed
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary team members to coordinate care
- Perform rapid assessments, interventions, and documentation of patient care in the electronic health record
- Maintain a safe, efficient, and supportive environment for patients and staff in the ED
