- End Date: August 9, 2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM), every 3rd weekend required
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,800 – $1,890 (competitive travel nurse pay)
- Patient Ratio: 1:1, 1:2, or assigned to OBED
- Positions Available: 2
Job Requirements
- Active RN license in Texas or a valid compact state license (Registered Nurse, RN)
- Current BLS certification (AHA)
- Current ACLS certification (AHA)
- Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- Certification in Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM) or AWHONN Intermediate FHM
- At least 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery, OB, or perinatal nursing experience preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Completion of annual competency verifications and skills validation
- Attendance at New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days for new hires
Responsibilities
- Provide routine and complex nursing care for Labor & Delivery patients, practicing independently and collaboratively with the OB/perinatal team
- Use the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation) for assigned patients
- Administer medications and treatments per protocol; monitor for side effects and therapeutic effectiveness
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, care provided, and fetal monitoring findings
- Perform and interpret fetal monitoring and communicate concerns to the interdisciplinary team
- Assess learning needs and provide patient, family, and caregiver education on labor, delivery, postpartum care, and newborn care
- Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in a patient-centered manner
- Delegate and assign tasks to other care providers appropriately while maintaining safe patient ratios
- Participate in ongoing competency, skills validation, and professional development in OB/L&D best practices
