Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Rutherfordton, NC 28139 — North Carolina nursing job near Chimney Rock State Park and Lake Lure
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (May 10, 2026 – August 9, 2026)
• Setting: Women’s Services (Labor & Delivery, Mother/Baby, Pediatrics, Gyn)
• Shift: 12-hour days (07:00 – 19:00)
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,800 – $1,890

Role Summary & Ideal Candidate

We are seeking a compassionate Labor & Delivery RN / L&D travel nurse with strong maternal-newborn clinical skills, fetal monitoring experience, and the ability to float across Mother/Baby, Pediatrics, and Gyn units. This travel nursing job is perfect for Registered Nurses with charge experience who want to deliver high-quality, patient-centered maternity care.

Job Requirements

• Active RN license in North Carolina or valid compact state license
• Minimum 3 years recent clinical experience in Labor & Delivery, Mother/Baby, Pediatrics, or Gyn; charge nurse experience preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP, STABLE, AWHONN Fetal Monitoring
• Comfortable floating within Women’s Services (Mother/Baby, Pediatrics, Gyn)
• Experience with Philips fetal monitors and OB Trave Vue preferred
• Familiarity with MediTech EHR is a plus

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered care to mothers and newborns throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum — typical L&D RN and maternity nurse duties
• Monitor maternal and fetal well-being using advanced fetal monitoring equipment
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (OB/GYN, pediatrics, anesthesia) to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Educate and support patients and families on labor, delivery, and postpartum care
• Float to related units (Mother/Baby, Pediatrics, Gyn) as needed for flexible clinical coverage
• Maintain thorough and accurate documentation in the MediTech EHR system
• Follow facility policies, professional standards, and evidence-based practices for maternal-newborn care
