• Job Title: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse / Travel RN
• Location: Portsmouth, NH 03801 (Portsmouth, New Hampshire healthcare)
• Setting: Progressive Care Neuro Trauma Unit (23 beds) — step-down, telemetry, neuro/trauma care
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (April 27, 2026 – July 27, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,020 – $2,130 (competitive travel nurse pay)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• On-Call: None
• Dress Code: Professional scrubs (no specific color required)

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a hospital setting — telemetry/step-down or progressive care experience required
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (must be valid at time of submission)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Preferred: NIHSS and TNCC certifications (neuro and trauma skillset)
• Experience with neuro/trauma care, high-acuity monitoring, and ventilator/high-flow management preferred
• Comfortable with a 4:1 patient ratio in a progressive care/step-down environment
• Team-oriented, collaborative, and adaptable — able to float to ICU and ED as needed

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a 23-bed Progressive Care Neuro Trauma unit as a PCU RN / Telemetry RN
• Monitor and assess patients using bedside monitors, end tidal O2 monitoring, high-flow oxygen, chronic ventilator settings, and subdural drain management
• Perform and assist with clinical procedures such as chest tube care and EEG setup/monitoring
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation using Meditech EMR and participate in care coordination with multidisciplinary teams
• Collaborate with RNs, nursing aides, physicians, and ancillary staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Float to other inpatient units, including ICU and ED, when required — flexibility important for travel nurse roles
• Uphold safety standards and deliver patient-centered care in a fast-paced progressive care/step-down environment
