Mother/Baby Registered Nurse (RN) – Night Shift, Travel RN opportunity in Seattle, WA. 13-week contract; minimum 2+ years recent postpartum/mother-baby experience and EPIC charting required. Join a high-volume postpartum unit caring for high-risk obstetric patients in downtown Seattle (98122).
Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1830 - $1930
- Location: Seattle, WA 98122 – downtown Seattle nursing job with easy access to parks, waterfront, dining, and cultural attractions
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 5/18/2026 – End: 8/17/2026)
- Shift: Night Shift, 3 x 12-hour shifts per week (19:00 - 07:30)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend days per contract
- Float Requirement: Issaquah Campus, Edmonds Campus, and Labor & Delivery for 2nd hour of recovery (float to other campuses as needed)
Required Qualifications – Mother/Baby / Postpartum Nurse
- Minimum 2 years of recent Mother/Baby or Postpartum RN experience in a high-risk obstetric setting (high-risk OB experience required)
- Travel RN experience required (unit does not accept first-time travelers)
- Active RN license (compact license honored) — Registered Nurse (RN) required
- BLS and NRP certifications required
- EPIC electronic charting experience required
- Clinical experience with magnesium sulfate therapy, Pitocin, Foley catheter care, postpartum hemorrhage management, and neonatal substance withdrawal
- JADA device experience preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive postpartum and mother-baby care: assessment, education, lactation support, and discharge planning for mothers and newborns
- Manage high-risk obstetric patients and respond to postpartum emergencies including hemorrhage and medication therapies (magnesium, Pitocin)
- Care for up to 4 couplets as standard patient assignment (couplet care and newborn assessments)
- Float to other campuses and assist with Labor & Delivery recovery when needed
- Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC for charting, orders, and interdisciplinary communication
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV team, physical therapy (PT), respiratory therapy (RT), pharmacy, and social work
- Perform special procedures and supportive care related to cesarean and vaginal deliveries, Foley catheter management, and postpartum medication administration
