- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,620 – $1,700

- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: May 11, 2026
- Shift: Night shift (3x12-hour, 18:30 – 07:00)
- Hours per Week: 36 (option for 48 hours)
- Patient Ratio: 1:2 (typical for ICU RN / critical care)
- Float Requirement: May float to MS, Stepdown, PCU, ER, CVICU (capped at 4 patients maximum while floating)
- Weekend Coverage: Required (6 weekend shifts per schedule period)
Job Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of ICU RN experience required (critical care nursing experience preferred)
- Pending New Mexico (NM) RN license or Compact RN license accepted (must be obtained prior to start)
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required
- Comfortable with 1:2 patient ratios and high-acuity adult patients
- Ability to float to similar units (MS, Stepdown, PCU, ER, CVICU) as needed
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, evidence-based care to adult ICU patients as a critical care nurse
- Manage arterial lines, central lines, and ventilator/ventilator management for ventilated patients
- Assist with chest tube insertion/removal and BiPAP/CPAP maintenance
- Administer blood products and manage IV sedation
- Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips and interpret arterial blood gases
- Monitor and interpret dysrhythmias and provide appropriate interventions
- Implement infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions
- Care for patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure and provide procedural sedation monitoring
- Perform phlebotomy, PICC line management, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (Respiratory Therapy, PT, Radiology, Pharmacy, Social Services)
- Float to MS, Stepdown, PCU, ER, CVICU as required by unit staffing needs
