Provide specialized pediatric nutrition care at a Pediatric Long-Term Acute Care (pLTC) facility in Richmond, VA. This travel dietitian opportunity is ideal for experienced pediatric clinical dietitians and hospital dietitians who are skilled in enteral feeding, nutrition assessment, and Epic charting. Qualifications / Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience as a Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN), including pediatric and enteral nutrition experience
- Active RD or RDN credential required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Experience with Epic electronic health record (EHR) required
- State license: Virginia license or compact state license (must be in hand at time of submission)
- Experience in pediatric rehabilitation or children’s hospital setting preferred
- Educational preference: Bachelor's degree in Nutrition/Dietetics or related field preferred
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Ability to float within scope of practice if needed
- Two professional references required
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive nutrition assessments and develop individualized nutrition care plans for pediatric patients (infants through adolescents) in a long-term acute care setting
- Provide enteral nutrition management, including tube feeding protocols, formula selection, and tolerance monitoring
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, nurses, therapists) to optimize clinical nutrition outcomes and discharge planning
- Document all patient care, nutrition interventions, and progress notes accurately in Epic (EHR) to meet clinical and regulatory standards
- Provide nutrition education to patients, families, and clinical staff on pediatric feeding, tube care, and therapeutic diets
- Participate in orientation, competency validation, and ongoing professional development
- Maintain compliance with facility policies and infection control practices, including vaccination and natural nail policies
