Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience as a Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN), including pediatric and enteral nutrition experience
• Active RD or RDN credential required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Experience with Epic electronic health record (EHR) required
• State license: Virginia license or compact state license (must be in hand at time of submission)
• Experience in pediatric rehabilitation or children’s hospital setting preferred
• Educational preference: Bachelor's degree in Nutrition/Dietetics or related field preferred
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Ability to float within scope of practice if needed
• Two professional references required

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nutrition assessments and develop individualized nutrition care plans for pediatric patients (infants through adolescents) in a long-term acute care setting
• Provide enteral nutrition management, including tube feeding protocols, formula selection, and tolerance monitoring
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, nurses, therapists) to optimize clinical nutrition outcomes and discharge planning
• Document all patient care, nutrition interventions, and progress notes accurately in Epic (EHR) to meet clinical and regulatory standards
• Provide nutrition education to patients, families, and clinical staff on pediatric feeding, tube care, and therapeutic diets
• Participate in orientation, competency validation, and ongoing professional development
• Maintain compliance with facility policies and infection control practices, including vaccination and natural nail policies
