• Location: Mattoon, IL 61938 – Central Illinois (Coles County) community with parks, local dining, and a relaxed Midwest lifestyle
• Setting: Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) – 2 South Unit
• Assignment Type: Travel Contract (Travel Nurse / Medical-Surgical RN)
• Start Date: May 11, 2026
• End Date: July 6, 2026
• Duration: 8 weeks
• Shift: Night Shift, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (12-hour nights)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Schedule: Every other weekend required; no on-call
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,040 – $2,150

Job Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience required (medical-surgical and telemetry experience preferred)
• Active Illinois RN license (Nursys must state Active)
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification
• ACLS (AHA) certification required within 30 days of start
• Work history and skills checklist current within 1 year, pertinent to Med/Surg/Telemetry
• Two supervisory reference forms with dates of employment
• Applicants must reside outside a 50-mile radius from Mattoon, IL (local candidates not considered)

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care for medical-surgical patients
• Provide clinical leadership and coordinate care on assigned night shifts as a Med/Surg RN
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, therapists, and ancillary staff) to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Perform accurate and timely documentation, electronic charting, and handoffs
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for patients and staff while adhering to nursing standards and policies
