ER RN Requirements — Travel Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the U.S.; Compact RN License preferred
• Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department (ED/ER) RN experience — prior critical care or high-acuity experience a plus
• At least 1 prior travel RN assignment preferred
• Required certifications:
  • BLS (AHA)
  • ACLS (AHA)
  • PALS (AHA)
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification
• Strong triage, assessment, and critical thinking skills for emergency and acute care
• Proficient documentation in electronic medical record (EMR) systems
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills — able to collaborate with multidisciplinary ED teams

Emergency Department (ED) RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate emergency and acute care to patients of all ages
• Perform rapid assessment, triage, and continuous monitoring of patients with emergent conditions
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments per provider orders
• Respond effectively to codes, trauma activations, and other emergency situations
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and ancillary staff to optimize patient outcomes
• Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Float to other units as required and support department surge needs
