Job Details

• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (May 11, 2026 – August 10, 2026)
• Location: Peoria, IL 61637 — Peoria nursing jobs, Illinois travel nursing
• Setting: Acute Care, 29-bed Med/Surg Unit
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), with every other weekend and rotating holidays — night shift RN
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,130 – $2,250
• Orientation: 2 shifts (12 hours each)

Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license required (or proof of application in process)
• BLS certification required (AHA preferred)
• Minimum 1 year recent Med/Surg RN experience in an acute care setting
• Ability to titrate Heparin drips and manage IV therapies
• Comfortable with nurse-to-patient ratios of 5–6:1 on nights
• Willingness to float to similar Med/Surg units as needed
• Negative drug screen required (drug-free campus)
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record preferred (EPIC charting)

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality clinical nursing care to adult patients with diverse medical diagnoses (GI bleeds, sepsis, CHF, COVID, DVT/PE, cellulitis, osteomyelitis, post-op care)
• Perform focused and comprehensive nursing assessments, medication administration, and accurate clinical documentation in EPIC
• Monitor and titrate Heparin drips and manage other infusion therapies per unit protocols
• Initiate peripheral IVs and utilize unit resources for blood draws and specimen management
• Collaborate with charge nurses, crisis RNs, physicians, and patient care technicians to ensure safe patient care
• Participate in orientation, unit-based education, and ongoing professional development as a Med/Surg RN
• Maintain a safe, patient-centered environment and communicate clearly with patients, families, and the healthcare team
