• Shift: 12-hour nights (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM), every other weekend required
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,200 – $2,320
• Target Candidate: PCU nurse, cardiac stepdown RN, acute care RN with 2+ years recent experience

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU, cardiac stepdown, or similar acute care nursing experience
• At least 1 completed travel contract preferred (travel nurse / travel RN experience helpful)
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois (IA accepted on offer); candidates eligible for Illinois licensure considered
• BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA required)
• Clinical competency with chest tubes, femstops, tracheostomies, CBIs, drains, and central lines
• Experience titrating and administering critical cardiac/vasoactive medications including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, Heparin, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Isuprel, Milrinone, Argatroban
• Familiarity with EPIC EMR documentation preferred
• Must have a taxable address outside of 50 miles from the facility (travel contract requirement)
• Submission materials required: driver’s license, work history/resume, recent skills checklist, license verification, required certifications, and one supervisory reference

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to PCU and cardiac stepdown patients in a fast-paced Level 1 Trauma Center environment
• Monitor and manage patients with complex cardiac and medical conditions, including post-procedure and telemetry patients
• Administer and titrate critical care medications and drips per protocol
• Perform and manage advanced bedside care (chest tubes, central lines, trachs, drains) and respond to rapid changes in patient status
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams—physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapy, and ancillary staff—to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Float within the same discipline across local campuses as needed to support patient care and staffing
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately using EPIC EMR
• Participate in orientation, unit-based education, and ongoing professional development to maintain clinical competencies
