- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: Overnight, 7 nights on / 7 nights off (8:00 PM – 7:00 AM, Wed–Tue)
- Hours per Week: 40
- Shift Length: 10-hour nights
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,600 – $2,790
- EMR: Cerner (experience preferred)
Pharmacist Job Requirements
- Active Arizona Pharmacist License (required) — must be licensed to practice in AZ
- Current ACLS & BLS certifications (required)
- Minimum 2 years of recent inpatient hospital pharmacist experience (overnight/inpatient pharmacy)
- Hands-on sterile compounding and IV admixture experience (USP standards followed)
- Ability to work independently as an overnight pharmacist and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced acute care setting
- Experience processing NICU orders preferred (neonatal medication experience a plus)
- Board certification (BCPS) and/or accredited pharmacy residency (PGY1/PGY2) preferred but not required
- Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
Primary Responsibilities — Overnight Hospital Pharmacist / Clinical Pharmacy
- Provide safe, accurate, and timely distribution of pharmaceutical agents to patients, clinical staff, and hospital units
- Perform clinical pharmacy services including medication reconciliation, dose adjustments, and therapeutic monitoring
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams on drug selection, dosing, and monitoring for complex inpatients
- Prepare and mix IV admixtures and nutritional supplements; perform sterile compounding in compliance with hospital policy and USP standards
- Maintain controlled substance accountability, narcotic inventory, and controlled substance documentation
- Participate in medication safety initiatives, formulary management, and quality improvement projects to support patient safety
- Respond to overnight emergencies and support Emergency Department and specialty unit medication needs
- Educate nursing staff, patients, and clinicians on medication safety, administration procedures, and adverse drug reaction monitoring
