• Job Title: Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) – Night Shift / Travel Nurse
• Location: Hastings, Nebraska (68901) — Hastings, NE nursing job
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (travel assignment / contract)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00pm–7:00am)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800 - $1,890
• Start Date: May 11, 2026
• Care Setting: Acute care, Medical/Surgical (Med/Surg) unit — 30-bed unit with private rooms

Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the U.S.; ability to obtain Nebraska RN licensure if required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification — required
• NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale) certification — required
• Minimum 1 year recent Med/Surg nursing experience in an acute care or inpatient setting
• Preferred experience: chest tubes, pain management, TPN (total parenteral nutrition), CBI (continuous bladder irrigation), wound care
• EPIC electronic health record (EHR) experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality bedside nursing care to a diverse Med/Surg patient population (post-surgical, dementia, respiratory illness, cancer, COVID-19)
• Manage appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios (1:4–6) on night shift
• Perform clinical skills consistent with Med/Surg and acute care RN scope of practice
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members including nurse aides, respiratory therapists, and monitor techs
• Float to PCU for Med/Surg overflow or low-acuity PCU patients as needed
• Participate in block scheduling and work every 3rd weekend and holiday (flexibility required)
• Comply with solid color scrub dress code
• Complete required orientation: two days nursing department orientation and one day unit-specific orientation
