Job Details

• Location: On-site at a hospital-based gastroenterology clinic in Doylestown, Pennsylvania (Bucks County)
• Position: Care Coordinator / Patient Care Coordinator in a hospital setting (Gastroenterology)
• Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (5 shifts per week; 8-hour days)
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $750 – $810
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (likely extension or conversion to permanent based on performance)
• Start Date: May 11, 2026

Qualifications & Job Requirements

• High School Diploma required
• At least 6 months of related experience and/or training (1 year preferred) in a medical office, community health center, or hospital setting
• Prior experience with NextGen and/or other EMR systems; Epic experience is a plus
• Working knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification, and prior authorization processes
• Excellent customer service, reception, and telephone skills; strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team under pressure
• Self-starter attitude with the ability to manage multiple tasks and patient interactions efficiently

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients in a polite, prompt, and helpful manner as the frontline hospital care coordinator
• Answer and manage multiple phone lines; triage calls and provide clear patient communication
• Schedule procedure appointments for gastroenterology patients and maintain accurate scheduling records
• Verify and update patient demographics and insurance information; complete eligibility checks
• Prepare and submit prior authorizations, referrals, and pre-certifications as required
• Provide patients with clear preparation instructions and information for GI procedures
• Use EMR systems (NextGen/Epic knowledge preferred) to document visits and maintain patient accounts
• Operate office communication systems and modern office equipment to support clinic workflow
• Perform other duties as assigned to support efficient clinic and hospital operations
