• Job Title: Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nurse, Night Shift
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910 - $2,010
• Location: Portales, NM 88130 (New Mexico travel nursing / New Mexico nursing jobs)
• Setting: Acute Care Hospital – Med/Surg Peds, Med/Surg Adult, PCU
• Shift: 12-hour nights (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Duration: 13 weeks (travel nurse assignment)
• Start Date: April 22, 2026

Job Requirements

• Active RN license (state appropriate for the assignment)
• Minimum 1 year recent Med/Surg experience
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required (due to potential pediatric admissions)
• Bilingual skills are helpful but not required
• Ability to work night shifts and perform occasional charge nurse duties

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and pediatric patients in Med/Surg and PCU units
• Manage a typical patient ratio of 5:1 while delivering safe, patient-centered care
• Collaborate with Avel tele-intensivist support for critical patient management
• Perform occasional charge nurse duties and unit leadership tasks as needed
• Respond promptly to pediatric admissions and medical emergencies
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Contribute to a positive, supportive team environment and strong interprofessional communication
