Cath Lab RN - Travel position in Springfield, IL — 13-week contract at a Magnet-designated, Level I trauma acute care hospital. Join our cardiac cath lab team and advance your travel nursing career in interventional cardiology.
Job Details - Cath Lab RN (Springfield, IL)
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,430 - $2,550
- Location: Springfield, IL 62781 (Springfield, Illinois travel nursing)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (May 18, 2026 – August 17, 2026)
- Shift: 3x12 Hour Days (06:30 – 19:00)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Setting: Acute Care Hospital — Magnet facility; Level I Trauma Center
- Unit: Cath Lab (5-room unit, average daily census: 25)
- Scrub Color: Provided
- Parking: Free with permit
Required Qualifications - Cath Lab Registered Nurse / Travel Nurse
- Minimum 1 year of recent Cath Lab RN experience (interventional cardiac cath lab experience required)
- Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license — must be in hand at time of application
- ACLS and BLS certifications (AHA or Red Cross only)
- Experience with Cerner electronic charting system
- Required procedure experience: Circulate procedures, diagnostic adult catheterizations, left and right heart catheterization, pulmonary artery line / Swan-Ganz monitoring
- Required medication experience: procedural sedation administration and monitoring
- Clinical skills: interpretation and management of cardiac dysrhythmias, monitoring procedural sedation
- On-call participation as needed; ability to float within scope to meet facility needs
- Weekend coverage: 2-3 weekends during the contract
Responsibilities - Cardiac Cath Lab Nursing
- Provide high-quality nursing care for adult and geriatric patients in the cardiac catheterization lab
- Assist with interventional and diagnostic cardiac catheterization procedures and vascular access
- Monitor and administer procedural sedation and vasoactive medications per protocol
- Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias and hemodynamic changes during procedures
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including cardiologists, radiology techs, anesthesiology, and rapid response teams
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation using Cerner (electronic medical record)
- Float to other units as needed to support hospital operations and patient flow
- Participate in on-call rotation and support emergent cath lab activations as required
