Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,090 - $2,200 (competitive travel nurse pay)

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent orthopedic nursing experience (orthopedic RN, orthopedic trauma nurse, spine surgery experience preferred)
• Active RN license in New York State (New York RN)
• Telemetry experience required; experience monitoring and interpreting cardiac telemetry
• BLS certification (American Heart Association only)
• ACLS certification (American Heart Association only)
• Experience in a Level 1 trauma facility preferred
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills for high-quality orthopedic patient care
• Ability to work collaboratively as a team player within multidisciplinary surgical and trauma teams

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing orthopedic trauma, spinal surgery, and elective orthopedic procedures
• Monitor and interpret telemetry data and communicate changes to the care team
• Perform post-operative orthopedic nursing care, including pain management, wound assessments, and mobility support
• Participate in rotating shift schedules, including floating, weekends, holidays, on-call, callback, and charge duties as needed
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (surgeons, PT/OT, anesthesia, case management) to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Contribute to a positive, educational, and innovative work environment and support unit-based research and quality initiatives
• Demonstrate strong communication and problem-solving skills in fast-paced situations
