Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,360 - $2,480
• Location: Cleveland, Ohio (44106) — travel nursing opportunity in Northeast Ohio
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (May 3, 2026 – August 1, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM), day shift only
• Hours per Week: 36
• Employment Type: Travel RN / Travel Nurse
• Setting: Medical Oncology Step-Down Unit (medical oncology nurse role)

Oncology RN Requirements

• Minimum 1 year recent experience in oncology nursing or step-down units (medical oncology nurse, chemotherapy nurse preferred)
• Active RN license in Ohio (compact license candidates welcome if valid)
• ACLS certification required; BLS preferred
• Proven expertise in chemotherapy administration and monitoring (oncology chemotherapy safety)
• Ability to interpret cardiac arrhythmias and respond appropriately
• Experience with advanced respiratory care: trach care, chest tubes, Airvo, CPAP/BiPAP
• Experience with end-of-life care and hospice highly preferred
• Excellent communication, critical thinking, and multitasking skills for fast-paced oncology settings
• Completion of required onboarding health screenings, immunizations, and background checks

Key Responsibilities (Oncology Nurse / Travel RN)

• Provide expert nursing care to complex medical oncology patients in a step-down unit
• Safely prepare, administer, and monitor chemotherapy and supportive oncology medications; manage side effects and toxicities
• Assess and interpret cardiac rhythms; intervene for arrhythmias as appropriate
• Deliver advanced respiratory care including tracheostomy management, chest tube care, and management of noninvasive ventilatory support (CPAP/BiPAP, Airvo)
• Rapidly identify and respond to changes in patient condition and escalate to the interdisciplinary team
• Support patients and families through end-of-life and hospice care with compassion and clear communication
• Collaborate with oncologists, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, and case management to ensure coordinated care and positive outcomes
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and adhere to institutional safety and chemotherapy administration protocols
