Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,410 - $1,490
• Location: Crestview, FL 32539 (Emerald Coast / Florida travel nursing)
• Setting: Med/Surg Stroke Unit — acute care, stroke-focused nursing
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Start Date: 5/18/2026 – End Date: 8/17/2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Employment Type: Travel nurse / contract RN

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Active Florida RN license or multistate compact RN license (required for travel nurses in Florida)
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification — required for Stroke Unit RNs
• Minimum 2 years recent Med/Surg RN experience with demonstrated stroke care experience
• AHCA clearance required for all Florida travelers
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and documentation skills

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality med/surg nursing care to patients on the Stroke Unit, following stroke protocols and best practices
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, perform accurate patient assessments, and document findings in the electronic medical record
• Administer medications, manage IVs, and coordinate care for acute and post-stroke patients
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, therapists, case management) to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
• Provide patient and family education on stroke recovery, prevention, and discharge planning
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and Florida AHCA requirements
