Minimum Qualifications & Certifications

• Minimum 1 year recent PCU, Step Down, or progressive care/telemetry experience
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and flexible scheduling as needed
• Strong critical thinking, clinical assessment, and communication skills

Core Responsibilities (PCU RN duties)

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Progressive Care/Step Down Unit
• Continuously monitor and assess patient conditions; identify and respond to clinical changes promptly
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments as prescribed and per facility protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, case management) to implement patient care plans
• Educate patients and families on care plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up care
• Accurately document patient care, assessments, and interventions in the electronic medical record
• Support unit flow, handoffs, and safe transitions between levels of care
