Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state of practice or multi-state compact)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required prior to first shift
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required prior to first shift
- Minimum of 2 years recent bedside clinical experience; LTAC, acute care, or critical care experience preferred
- Previous LTAC nursing or long-term acute care experience is a plus
Responsibilities – LTAC / Night Shift RN Duties
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission and develop individualized care plans
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and families to identify patient teaching needs and measurable goals
- Provide timely, accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic medical record
- Participate actively in patient rehabilitation programs and discharge planning from day one
- Communicate changes in patient status to providers to ensure continuity of care and patient safety
- Supervise and provide direction to LPNs, CNAs, and orientees; support clinical development of teammates
- Promote and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff, adhering to hospital policies and LTAC standards
- Assume charge responsibilities as needed following orientation and demonstrate leadership on night shifts
- Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education relevant to LTAC nursing and travel RN roles
