• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,100 – $2,210 (competitive travel nurse pay)

• Unit Size: 64 beds (15 designated Neuro beds)

Travel Nurse / Cardiac Stepdown RN Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in IMCU/PCU or Cardiac Stepdown nursing
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York (NURSYS verification required)
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Experience with EPIC EMR (documentation proficiency in Epic preferred)
• Completed skills checklist matching Cardiac Stepdown specialty
• Up-to-date resume documenting travel or acute care nursing experience
• Valid driver’s license with matching address
• Ability and willingness to float to other units as needed

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients with cardiac, neuro, trauma, and respiratory diagnoses (e.g., COPD, DKA, sepsis, MI, CV stepdown, post-op)
• Monitor and manage specialty cardiac and critical care equipment: temporary pacers, chest tubes, arterial lines, BiPAP, Neptune Vapo, and chronic vents (with RT support)
• Perform patient assessments, medication administration, and clinical interventions consistent with IMCU/PCU standards
• Document care accurately and efficiently in EPIC EMR to support quality outcomes and continuity of care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, RT, PT/OT, case management) to coordinate patient care and discharge planning
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety protocols, and evidence-based practice guidelines
• Support unit flexibility by floating to other inpatient units when required
