Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (valid in state of practice or appropriate compact license)
• BLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
• ACLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
• Minimum of 2 years of bedside clinical experience
• Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and communication skills
• Ability to supervise and direct Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN/LVN), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA), and orientees
• Experience in LTAC, complex care, or rehabilitation settings preferred but not required

Responsibilities (LTAC Nurse / Travel RN)

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission and develop individualized care plans
• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and interdisciplinary team conferences to support recovery goals
• Initiate discharge planning and patient/family teaching from the day of admission
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner
• Promote patient and staff safety by adhering to hospital safety policies and procedures
• Supervise and provide direction to ancillary nursing personnel and support staff
• Maintain effective communication with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care for medically complex patients
• Contribute positively to team building and a supportive work environment
• Identify and pursue opportunities for professional growth and development in LTAC and travel nursing
