Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,690 – $1,820
- Location: Carlsbad, NM 88220 (Carlsbad, New Mexico – travel healthcare job)
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (May 25, 2026 – August 24, 2026)
- Shift: Days, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday–Friday
- Hours per Week: 40
- Call Requirements: 5–7 days of call per month
- Setting: Hospital Radiology Department – hospital radiology job, clinical imaging team
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technician / Sonographer in a hospital setting
- Graduate of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program (AMA/CAAHEP preferred)
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification
- New Mexico state license required (must be eligible or hold appropriate NM licensure)
- Eligible for ECHO (echocardiography) license or credential
- Proficiency in OB/GYN, general abdominal, small parts, and ECHO ultrasound procedures
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform all ultrasound procedures independently, following departmental protocols and quality standards
- Recognize, document, and communicate sonographic findings and pathologies for radiologist interpretation
- Provide exceptional patient care, safety, and comfort during imaging procedures
- Operate ultrasound equipment (including ECHO systems) safely and effectively
- Accurately document imaging procedures and patient information in the electronic health record (EHR) system
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized imaging environment and monitor replenishment of supplies
- Perform abdominal, pelvic (gynecological & obstetrical), transvaginal, and small parts sonograms
- Assist with ultrasound-guided procedures including biopsies, drainage, thoracentesis, paracentesis, and aspirations as needed
