- Duration: 13 weeks
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,910 - $2,010
- Hours per Week: 36
- Shift: 12 Hour Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM); every other weekend required
- Unit: E100 MedSurg Telemetry (48 beds; average census 27)
- Dress Code: Scrubs and closed-toe shoes (no crocs)
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year recent Med/Surg Telemetry and orthopedic nursing experience required (orthopedic nursing jobs, telemetry experience)
- Active RN license required (compact license accepted if applicable)
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Proficient in head-to-toe assessments and telemetry monitoring
- IV medication administration experience, including continuous drips (Lasix drip, heparin drip) and IV push meds (metoprolol, diltiazem, insulin IV/subQ)
- Wound care experience including drain management and VAC therapy
- NGT/G-tube care, parenteral nutrition, and central line management (PICC/HD catheter/midlines)
- Foley, nephrostomy, suprapubic catheter care, and ostomy care
- Experience with postoperative orthopedic patient care and discharge coordination
- Familiarity with Altera / Allscripts Sunrise documentation system preferred
Primary Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality orthopedic and MedSurg Telemetry nursing care to a diverse adult patient population (telemetry nurse responsibilities)
- Perform comprehensive assessments and monitor telemetry and critical parameters
- Administer IV medications and manage continuous drips safely and accurately
- Provide wound care, manage drains, and apply VAC therapy as indicated
- Care for patients with NGT/G tubes, parenteral nutrition, central lines, and ostomies
- Support postoperative orthopedic patients, coordinate discharge planning, and participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds
- Float to similar MedSurg Telemetry units as needed and collaborate with the care team to promote patient safety and satisfaction
- Participate in unit initiatives, including monthly UPC meetings and patient care excellence programs
