Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• At least 1 year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist in a hospital or acute care setting
• Cardiopulmonary certification or equivalent pulmonary care credentials
• Experience with mechanical ventilation, oxygen therapy, and aerosol therapies preferred
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and thrive in a fast-paced hospital environment
• Strong communication, teamwork, and documentation skills

Primary Responsibilities – Respiratory Care & Clinical Duties

• Provide direct respiratory care to patients across the lifespan—from premature infants to geriatric patients—diagnosed with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders
• Evaluate, treat, and monitor patients using oxygen therapy, aerosol medication, chest physiotherapy, and mechanical ventilation (ventilator management)
• Perform respiratory assessments, initiate and manage airway support, and respond to code/rapid response situations as needed
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to manage COPD, asthma, pneumonia, and other pulmonary conditions
• Document patient progress, treatment interventions, and ventilator changes in the medical record; adjust treatment plans per clinical status
• Maintain equipment safety, infection control standards, and a supportive patient care environment
