Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,200 - $2,310
- Location: Santa Fe, New Mexico (87505)
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: May 18, 2026
- Shift: Days, 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM (4 x 10-hour shifts)
- Employment Type: Travel Nurse, Full Time (Travel RN / Perioperative RN)
- Primary Location: PMC; flexibility to float to Main campus OR as needed
- Role: Operating Room Registered Nurse / OR RN / Surgical Nurse (perioperative)
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of operating room nursing or related perioperative nursing experience (OR RN experience preferred)
- Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state RN license
- BLS (AHA) required
- ACLS (AHA) required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Ability and willingness to float between PMC and Main campus based on staffing needs
- Strong knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and perioperative safety protocols
Responsibilities / Perioperative Duties
- Provide routine and complex perioperative care across pre-op, intra-op, and post-op phases for surgical patients
- Practice independently as an OR RN and demonstrate clinical judgment in surgical cases
- Use the nursing process for assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of surgical patients
- Administer medications and treatments per protocols; monitor for effectiveness and adverse reactions
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, intraoperative events, and care provided in the medical record
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers about procedures, recovery expectations, and post-op resources
- Make assignments and delegate tasks appropriately to other care team members
- Address complex psychological, cultural, and social needs of patients and families during the perioperative experience
- Remain flexible to stay beyond scheduled hours when surgical cases run past block
