• Job Title: Med/Surg Telemetry RN / Travel Nurse (Night Shift)
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,730 – $1,820 (competitive travel nurse pay)
• Location: Gaffney, SC 29340 — Cherokee Medical Center (South Carolina travel nursing job)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Night, 3 x 12-hour shifts (19:00 – 07:00)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Start Date: May 11, 2026
• Resource Pool: May float to main campus or other units as needed (float within scope)

Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum 1 year recent Med/Surg Tele RN experience required; 2 years preferred
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — pending license accepted but must be obtained before start
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Travel nursing experience required; comfortable with travel nurse assignments and short-term contracts
• Must pass arrhythmia and medication competency tests on day one
• Epic charting experience preferred (electronic medical record experience a plus)
• Ability to float to other units within clinical scope to meet facility needs
• COVID-19 vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Must pass onsite fit testing (may require shaving for respirator fit)
• Not accepting local candidates within a 75-mile radius

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered care on the Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Continuously monitor telemetry and interpret/manage cardiac dysrhythmias
• Respond rapidly to changes in patient status and escalate per protocol
• Float to other clinical units as required, within scope of practice
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including PT/OT, Respiratory Therapy, Pharmacy, and Case Management
• Care for patients with diagnoses such as sepsis, dementia, post-operative needs, orthopedics, chest pain, and stroke
• Use special equipment including chest tubes and wound VACs as clinically indicated
• Maintain assigned patient ratios (typically 1:6) and follow facility attendance and compliance policies
• Participate in on-call rotations or pick up additional shifts when required
