Job Details

• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (May 11, 2026 – August 9, 2026)
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,870 – $1,970
• Location: San Marcos, TX 78666 (Central Texas travel nurse opportunity)
• Setting: Operating Room (OR) – Surgical Services / Perioperative unit
• Shift: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM, 8 Hour Days
• Schedule: Full-time; on-call rotation required ~1 weekend per month (about 7 days/month)
• Employment Type: Travel (Travel Nurse / Travel RN)

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Active RN license in Texas or eligible Compact RN license (Travel nurse licensing support available)
• BLS certification (AHA required)
• Minimum 1 year of operating room or perioperative/surgical nursing experience preferred
• BSN preferred; CNOR or perioperative certification preferred but not required
• Strong skills in aseptic technique, surgical case management, circulating and scrub support

Responsibilities – OR Nurse / Perioperative RN

• Provide independent perioperative nursing care for routine and complex surgical patients as an OR nurse
• Perform assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation of perioperative care using the nursing process
• Administer medications and treatments per protocol; monitor effectiveness and report adverse events
• Accurately document patient history, intraoperative interventions, and postoperative outcomes
• Address complex psychological, cultural and social needs of patients and families; provide patient education on procedures and recovery
• Collaborate with surgical team members (surgeons, anesthesiologists, perioperative techs) to ensure safe, efficient OR workflow
• Delegate and assign tasks to support staff appropriately to maintain optimal patient care and OR efficiency
• Participate in on-call rotation and support emergency surgical cases as needed
