Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (New Jersey)
• ACLS certification – Required
• BLS certification – Required
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery (L&D) nursing experience

Key Responsibilities (L&D / OB Nurse)

• Perform thorough, systematic assessments for patients across the perinatal spectrum, from pediatrics to geriatrics when applicable
• Provide competent, evidence-based nursing care in the Labor & Delivery unit, including intrapartum and immediate postpartum care
• Demonstrate proficiency with emergency equipment and procedures relevant to obstetric emergencies
• Maintain accurate, complete documentation of patient care, fetal monitoring, and progress notes
• Promote patient satisfaction and family-centered care by communicating professionally and compassionately with patients, families, and the perioperative team
• Follow National Patient Safety Goals and Universal Protocols, including correct patient identification and surgical/time-out procedures
• Individualize patient care plans according to procedures, anesthesia type, and clinical status
• Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, surgical procedures, and post-operative or postpartum care
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to prioritize patient safety, assume accountability, and support efficient workflow in a fast-paced OB setting
