- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,070 – $2,180
- Setting: PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit) – Post-anesthesia recovery / recovery room, perioperative nursing
- Shift: 12-hour days (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM), 3 shifts per week
- Employment Type: Travel Nurse, On-site
- Location: Akron, OH 44304 — Akron, Ohio travel nursing opportunity
- Maximum RTO: 7 days
- No on-call required
Job Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program (ACEN or CCNE)
- Current RN license to practice in Ohio (required for PACU RN roles)
- Minimum 2 years of recent PACU experience (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit / recovery room)
- Recent experience with Epic EMR (within the last 12 months; must be listed on resume)
- At least 1 year of phlebotomy experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (required within 6 weeks of hire if not current)
- Ability to meet physical demands: lifting, standing, walking for extended periods
- Ability to work under stressful conditions and irregular hours common to perioperative and PACU nursing
- Additional certifications (such as PALS, NIHSS) may be required for specialty populations
Responsibilities
- Provide, coordinate, and delegate nursing care for post-anesthesia patients in the PACU
- Use evidence-based practice and sound clinical judgment in post-op and recovery care
- Monitor patient recovery, assess vital signs, pain, and respond to changes in condition
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed; manage post-anesthesia interventions
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary perioperative teams (anesthesia, surgeons, OR staff) to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic EMR; ensure compliance with documentation standards
- Support patient and family education, discharge teaching, and communication post-procedure
- Adhere to safety protocols, infection control standards, and PACU best practices
