Job Requirements (PICU Registered Nurse / Pediatric ICU Nurse)

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State (required)
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a PICU or pediatric critical care setting (PICU nurse experience)
• Strong clinical skills in pediatric care, including thoracic surgery, surgical pathology, sub-acute care, pediatric PACU, and pediatric OR
• Excellent communication, critical thinking, and teamwork abilities
• BLS certification (required); additional pediatric certifications preferred (e.g., PALS)

Primary Responsibilities (Pediatric Critical Care / PICU Nurse Duties)

• Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU
• Monitor patient status, administer medications, and perform focused and ongoing assessments
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (physicians, respiratory therapists, surgeons, and pediatric specialists) to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Support and educate families on patient conditions, treatment plans, and discharge needs
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold patient safety, infection control, and compliance standards
