• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,680 – $1,770
• Location: Lorain, Ohio (zip 44053) — Lorain travel nurse, Ohio nursing jobs
• Contract Duration: 13–16 weeks (travel contract)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (PM), every other weekend, every other holiday
• Hours per Week: 36
• Unit Size: 33 beds (Progressive Care Unit / Stepdown, cardiac telemetry)
• Patient Ratios: 1:5–6 on nights (acuity dependent)
• Travel Contract: Travel nurses only — local candidates not accepted

Job Requirements

• Current RN license in Ohio or active compact state license
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Dysrhythmia exam required (study guide available) — telemetry nurse skills expected
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience; PCU/Stepdown/Telemetry or similar acute care background preferred
• Experience with cardiac, vascular, and med-surg patient populations (post-cath, post-pacemaker care preferred)
• EPIC experience preferred for documentation and telemetry verification
• Travel nursing experience not required but a plus
• Navy blue scrubs required

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate treatment effectiveness
• Administer medications safely and accurately, including drips and titrated infusions
• Coordinate patient care and serve as point of contact across hospital departments—strong communication with interdisciplinary teams
• Read, verify, and document telemetry strips once per shift in EPIC (telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia recognition)
• Manage patients with cardiac, vascular, and med-surgical needs, including post-cath and post-pacemaker care
• Care for lines, drains, and devices (PICC, dialysis catheters, PEG tubes, ostomies, Foley catheters, chest tubes, NG tubes, wound vacs)
• Monitor and manage advanced airway modalities (trachs, BiPAP, CPAP, heated high flow, nasal cannulas)
• Administer drips and infusions (Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Lasix, Heparin, Insulin) and manage PCA pumps for pain control
• Collaborate with ancillary staff, including PCAs, unit secretaries, and phlebotomy to ensure timely, safe patient care
• Act as a patient safety advocate and participate in quality improvement initiatives and unit-based performance goals
• Provide emotional support and education to patients and families coping with illness, injury, and treatment decisions
