Registered Nurse (RN) – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – Night Travel Nurse – Lorain, OH (13-week)

• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Travel Contract)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,800 – $1,890
• Shift: 12-hour nights (PM); every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Hours per Week: 36
• Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Stepdown (1W), 33 beds
• Patient Ratios: 1:5–6 on nights (acuity dependent)
• Start Date: June 1, 2026
• End Date: August 31, 2026

Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Active RN license in Ohio or compact state (Ohio RN license preferred)
• Minimum 2 years recent PCU / Stepdown / telemetry nursing experience
• Current BLS and ACLS; NIH Stroke certification required
• Dysrhythmia Exam required (study guide available)
• Ability to read and verify telemetry strips in EPIC EHR
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Previous travel nursing experience is a plus but not required

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments, interpret data, and develop individualized care plans for PCU / stepdown patients
• Provide cardiac telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition; act on critical changes per protocol
• Administer medications and manage continuous drips (e.g., Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Lasix, Heparin, Insulin)
• Care for patients with vascular access and devices (PICC, dialysis catheters), enteral devices (PEG, NG), ostomies, chest tubes, wound VACs
• Manage advanced respiratory support including tracheostomies, BiPAP, CPAP, heated high flow and various nasal cannulas
• Coordinate interdisciplinary care, provide patient and family education, and serve as a patient advocate
• Document all assessments and interventions accurately in EPIC EHR
• Participate in quality improvement, patient safety initiatives, and unit-based performance goals
