Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Minimum 18 months of recent Emergency Department (ER) experience required; 2 years preferred — experience with triage and critical care nursing highly valued
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (compact or state-specific as required)
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS (AHA or American Red Cross) at time of submission
• NIHSS certification (must obtain prior to start)
• Epic charting experience at level 3 or 4 required (EMR / electronic charting)
• Nicotine-free (negative drug screen required)
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Ability to float within scope as needed (other units in the hospital)
• First-time travelers accepted — strong orientation and support provided
• No pending certifications accepted; EKG and Pharmacology competency tests required during orientation (2 attempts max)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced Emergency Department (ED)
• Perform triage, primary assessment, and management of acute and critical patients (trauma, stroke, cardiac, respiratory)
• Manage advanced interventions including arterial lines, BiPAP/CPAP, ventilated patients, central lines, IV vasopressors, and dysrhythmia management
• Implement isolation precautions, infection control and PPE protocols in accordance with hospital policy
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, respiratory therapists, techs, case management) to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Complete required onboarding and time-sensitive orientation modules prior to start
• Float to other units within scope of practice as needed to support hospital operations
