Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,570 – $1,650
• Location: Vero Beach, FL 32960 (Treasure Coast, Florida)
• Facility Type: Short Term Acute Care – Teaching Hospital
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: June 7, 2026 – End: September 6, 2026)
• Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (18:45 – 07:15)
• Hours per Week: 36

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 18 months of ICU experience required; 2 years preferred (CVICU, Cardiac ICU or Neuro ICU experience highly valued)
• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required at time of submission
• NIHSS certification required prior to start
• Epic charting experience required (electronic medical record)
• Nicotine-free (negative drug screen required)
• COVID-19 and seasonal flu vaccinations required (medical or religious exemptions only)
• First-time travel nurses accepted
• Must be able to float to all three hospitals within a 20-mile radius as needed
• All requested time off must be submitted up front

Key Responsibilities (CVICU / Cardiac ICU Nurse)

• Deliver high-quality critical care to CVICU patients, including multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias and hemodynamic instability
• Care for post-cardiac surgery patients (step-down and post-op, not directly from OR)
• Manage invasive devices: intra-aortic balloon pumps, pulmonary artery (Swan-Ganz) catheters, arterial lines, and central lines
• Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips safely
• Provide continuous IV sedation, ventilator management, and BiPAP/CPAP support
• Care for mechanically ventilated patients and interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Perform airway suctioning (ETT, NT) and follow isolation precautions/PPE protocols
• Complete time-sensitive required modules and participate in orientation (EKG and pharmacology competency tests required)
• Float within scope to meet staffing needs across three hospital locations
