This 13-week travel nursing assignment places experienced telemetry RNs in a 30-bed acute care interventional medical surgical unit. - Location: Columbus, OH 43214 (Central Ohio travel nursing opportunity)
- Position: Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) – Night Shift, Travel RN
- Setting: Acute Care Interventional Telemetry Medical Surgical Unit, 30 beds
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 6/15/2026 – End: 9/14/2026)
- Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 – 07:30), every other weekend & holiday
- Weekly Hours: 36
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,860 – $1,960 (competitive travel nursing pay)
- Patient Ratio: 1:5-6
- EMR: EPIC experience preferred
- Orientation: 24 hours of orientation provided as part of the assignment
Qualifications / Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the U.S. (per travel policy)
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience (Telemetry RN preferred)
- Proven ability to independently read and interpret telemetry
- Experience with post-op GI patients and moderate to high acuity cases preferred
- Must reside more than 100 miles from central Columbus, OH (per travel policy)
- Strong skills in central line care, blood product administration, IV management, and wound care
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a surgical/telemetry unit
- Continuously monitor and interpret telemetry and respond to cardiac events
- Titrate cardiac and insulin drips and manage post-op checks and recovery care
- Administer medications including heparin, cardizem, amiodarone, insulin, and ketamine drips
- Caring for patients with PCA, epidurals, Foley catheters, surgical drains, and feeding tubes
- Perform central line care, blood product administration, IV management, and wound care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV therapy, PT, RT, pharmacy, and social services
- Document care and coordinate communication using EPIC EMR
- Adhere to infection control and isolation protocols and participate in rapid response/code teams
