• Position: ICU Registered Nurse (RN) / Critical Care Nurse – Travel Nurse
• Assignment Type: Travel nursing (13-week assignment)
• Location: Mechanicsville, VA 23116 (Richmond area) — Virginia travel nursing
• Setting: 24-bed high-acuity Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 06/08/2026 – End: 09/05/2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights, every other weekend, one major holiday required
• Weekly Hours: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,020 – $2,130
• Note: No local candidates — must reside outside a 50-mile radius

Required Qualifications — ICU RN / Critical Care Nurse

• Current RN license in Virginia or compact state (required)
• Minimum 2 years recent ICU or critical care nursing experience (required); 3+ years strongly preferred
• BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS certification required
• Proficiency in ventilator management, sedation, and titrating vasoactive drips/pressors
• Competent in reading and verifying rhythm strips; must pass EKG exam at orientation
• Experience with lab draws and peripheral IV starts
• Neuro ICU background and experience with Impella, CRRT, and cardiac surgery patients preferred
• Copy of nursing diploma required for point-of-care testing access

Core Responsibilities — ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

• Perform comprehensive initial and ongoing patient assessments and develop individualized critical care plans
• Administer medications and manage life-support technology, including ventilators, CRRT, and Impella
• Monitor and titrate vasoactive drips/pressors and perform hemodynamic monitoring
• Conduct point-of-care testing (EPOC, i-STAT) and accurate documentation of results
• Interpret cardiac rhythms and respond quickly in emergencies; maintain EKG competency
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and the interdisciplinary care team
• Advocate for patient safety, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and support best practices in critical care
• Educate and support patients and families through critical illness and recovery
