Required Qualifications (ER Nurse)
- Minimum 2 years of recent ER, ED observation/holding, or MS/tele nursing experience (emergency department or critical care background preferred)
- Active RN license (compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
- Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS
- Experience with EPIC documentation preferred (EPIC EMR experience advantageous for Columbus healthcare roles)
- Community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- Must provide 2 professional references (one manager/director/supervisor and one charge RN or leadership reference)
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
Key Responsibilities – Emergency Department RN
- Provide high-quality, compassionate emergency nursing care and rapid assessment in the Emergency Department Observation Unit
- Manage a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio while prioritizing triage, patient stabilization, and ongoing monitoring
- Perform telemetry and dysrhythmia management, PCU/Stepdown care, and IV insulin & heparin protocols
- Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, manage blood products, and care for tracheostomy patients
- Utilize rapid response teams, provide wound care and wound VAC management, and support renal failure interventions
- Perform non-invasive airway management (CPAP/BiPAP, oxygen therapy) and support emergency airway stabilization
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently using EPIC (electronic medical record)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, radiology, laboratory, and pharmacy to ensure continuity of care
