Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1130 - $1210
• Location: Hospital — Plainsboro Township, NJ 08536 (Central New Jersey)
• Job Type: 13-week contract — Sterile Processing / Central Sterile (SPD)
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
• Hours per Week: 40
• Weekend Rotations: 1–2 weekends every 6 weeks
• Holidays: As needed

Job Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician (hospital/central sterile preferred)
• Certification required (CRCST, CBSPD, or equivalent certification preferred)
• Experience with instrument reprocessing, sterilization, and sterile storage procedures
• Ability to work evening shifts and occasional weekends/holidays
• Strong attention to detail, commitment to patient safety, and adherence to infection control standards

Responsibilities

• Clean, decontaminate, inspect, assemble, package, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment
• Operate and monitor sterilization equipment (autoclaves/sterilizers) and perform routine equipment checks
• Maintain accurate records and logs of sterilization processes, instrument tracking, and sterilization loads
• Ensure compliance with hospital infection control standards and sterilization protocols (AAMI/CDC guidelines)
• Collaborate with surgical, nursing, and supply chain staff to meet case needs and ensure timely instrument availability
• Support inventory management, supply tracking, and restocking of sterile trays and supplies
