• Job Title: CVICU Registered Nurse / Travel RN (Cardiac ICU & Neuro ICU)
• Location: Vero Beach, FL 32960 (Treasure Coast, Florida travel nursing)
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,570 - $1,650
• Facility Type: Short Term Acute Care — Teaching Hospital
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (July 7, 2026 – October 6, 2026)
• Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour (18:45 – 07:15); 36 hours/week
• Charting: Epic experience required (Epic Systems)

CVICU RN Qualifications / Critical Care Nurse Requirements

• Minimum 18 months of ICU experience required; 2 years preferred (cardiac ICU and neuro ICU experience ideal)
• Clinical experience with mixed ICU populations: cardiac, neuro, multisystem organ dysfunction
• Active AHA BLS & ACLS certifications required at time of application
• NIHSS certification required prior to start
• Epic charting experience required (Epic Systems)
• Nicotine-free status required (negative drug screen)
• Must be able to float to all three hospitals within 20 miles as needed
• First-time travel nurses accepted; pending licenses not accepted
• All requested time off must be submitted up front

Clinical Responsibilities (Cardiac ICU / Neuro ICU)

• Provide high-quality, evidence-based care to cardiovascular and neuro ICU patients (critical care nursing)
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms; manage dysrhythmias and advanced cardiac life support
• Care for patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure and complex hemodynamic needs
• Manage intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP), pulmonary artery catheters (Swan-Ganz), arterial lines, and central lines
• Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, IV sedation, and vasoactive infusions per protocol
• Manage mechanically ventilated patients; perform ventilator management and suctioning (ETT, NT)
• Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and apply appropriate interventions
• Maintain isolation precautions, infection control and PPE standards
• Float within scope to meet facility needs across cardiac, neuro, and mixed ICU units
• Complete time-sensitive modules and annual competencies prior to start
