- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,890 - $1,990 (competitive travel nurse pay)
- Location: Springfield, IL (zip 62781) — Springfield healthcare / Illinois nursing job
- Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital, Level I Trauma Center, Magnet-designated facility
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (6/15/2026 – 9/14/2026)
- Shift: 3x12-hour days (06:45 – 19:15)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Patient Ratio: 1:4 (Cardiac Stepdown / Telemetry RN ratio)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Orientation: 16 hours
- Parking: Permit required, no cost
Qualifications / Job Requirements (Cardiac Stepdown RN / Telemetry RN)
- Required: Minimum 1 year of recent Cardiac Stepdown / IMC / PCU RN experience
- Required: Active Illinois RN license (must have at submission)
- Required: BLS and NIHSS certifications (AHA or Red Cross only)
- Preferred: ACLS certification
- Experience with telemetry monitoring, cardiac monitoring, and neuro stepdown care
- Previous travel experience required.
- Cerner electronic charting experience preferred
- Level I Trauma experience preferred
- Ability to float within clinical scope as needed
- Must be able to care for ventilated patients and manage tracheostomies
Responsibilities (Cardiac / Telemetry / IMC RN)
- Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients in a dedicated IMC / Cardiac Stepdown / Telemetry unit
- Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias, telemetry strips, and continuous cardiac monitoring
- Respond to emergencies and participate in rapid response and code situations as appropriate
- Care for post-cardiac angiogram, MI, cardiac cath, cardiac surgery patients, and perform sheath removal care
- Manage feeding tubes, pre/post hemodialysis care, renal failure, and complex IV therapies
- Administer blood products, cardiac and vasoactive drips, procedural sedation, and wound care
- Provide care for patients with neurological, orthopedic, plastic surgery, and respiratory needs
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams including PT, RT, pharmacy, and social services to optimize patient outcomes
- Float to other units within scope as needed to meet facility staffing and patient-care needs
