• Shift Length: 10 hours
• Shift Time: 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM

PACU Registered Nurse Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent PACU nursing experience required
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey or compact state eligibility, as applicable
• Current ACLS certification
• Current BLS certification
• Current NIHSS certification
• PALS preferred
• Experience caring for post-anesthesia patients in a surgical, cardiovascular, or perioperative setting preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive post-anesthesia nursing care for patients recovering from heart and vascular surgical procedures
• Monitor airway status, pain control, vital signs, and hemodynamic stability during the recovery phase
• Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition in the PACU
• Collaborate closely with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and perioperative team members to support safe patient transitions
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in Cerner
• Educate patients and families regarding recovery expectations and discharge instructions as appropriate
• Maintain high standards of patient safety, clinical quality, and compassionate care throughout the PACU experience
